Anyone heard of RECLAST for osteoporosis available in south africa?
reclast is a type of IV medication that is available in the states, im trying to find out information for my gran who lives in south africa and is suffering with severe chronic osteoporosis pains in her back, and problem is she has heart conditions so she can not take any type of painkiller because it could incur internal bleeding, and the medical system and healthcare for old people without health insurance is non existent, and very, very unreliable and unhelpful...please, any help would be appreciated.

How can i stop my osteoporosis?
Hi i have had Anorexia Nervosa for five years, i have been in and out of treatment, and was diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 21. i have maintained my weight at 93 pounds for a year now, and my height is 5'4. The problem is i have not had a bone density test since 2009, and the last time i was in inpatient treatment, the doctors told me i had to gain more weight in order to fix the osteoporosis, that no amount of calcium would fix it. But then i went to another doctor, who said he thought i could remain at my weight and fix the osteoporosis with calcium. so i'm not sure what to do. I really am so fixated on my weight, and hate the weight that i am at right now, that i just want to lose all the weight i gained, my lowest weight was 73 pounds even though i know that losing weight would just make my health worse. i never drink water, and i eat limited quantities of fruit and yogurt, and coffee makes up the majority of my diet. i am also not allowed to exercise. I'm worried if i go buy the hospital's recommendation to eat more, i will gain weight. i get paranoid if my weight goes above 93 pounds. i hate having osteoporosis while being so young, and i don't really know how to stop it. too scared to gain more weight. any advice is appreciated
Could FOP plus squalamine be a cure for osteoporosis?
my dad has osteoporosis which basically thins bones till their so fragile that practically anything could break them and I found out about a disease called Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva FOP that apparently turns muscle into bone in fact they eventually grow so much bone that they can't move I also found out about squalamine which their testing for use on FOP apparently it already stops the growth of bone in sharks so I was wondering if the squalamine ends up working could they purposely give FOP to people with osteoporosis and regulate it with squalamine to be a cure for osteoporosis? would that work?
Does osteopenia always lead to osteoporosis?
I have been diagnosed with osteopenia by my bone density results. I have had two infusions of Reclast, one in 2009 and one in 2011 insurance will not pay for Reclast, for osteopenia, but every other year. My last bone density showed that my numbers were better in my back but worse in my hips. Will it turn into osteoporosis anyway? I'm not worried, just curious.
The worse pain in my middle finger and my ring finger. Could it be osteoporosis or something?
Okay so I'm going to try to make a mental image for you guys... Look at your left right hand imagine your pinky and ring finger curved slightly to the middle finger. Now imagine your index finger and your middle finger slightly curved towards your ring finger. Can you see it? Hopefully, you do, lol. I have a slight gap between my ring and middle finger, well it's big enough to see through it, lol. Well I've had this since I was born, I got it from my grandma. But suddenly the part that is curved hurts and it wasn't this curved when last year. I don't understand why. My mom said it might me osteoporosis or osteoarthritis but I'm only 16. I'm not over 50 as it says online that it usually effects women. So does anyone know of anything? Should I go to the doctor to get checked or is it because I'm growing still because I am only 16 and I think I'm still growing.Help?

I'm a 22 year old girl with osteoporosis, is this going to limit me in my life?
If someone could please take the time to read this and answer my questions I'd greatly appreciate it.I've broken many bones in my lifetime, and just two months ago suffered my worst break yet. I shattered my tibia plateau. When I had my surgery consultation the guy told me I have osteoporosis. When I went in for my surgery, the surgeon told me I have osteogenesis imperfecta because my schlera's are blue. I've been trying to research some things on the internet but I really don't understand it. Why am I being told two different things? How do I find out what is really the case? Why wouldn't my family doctor have suspected something?Anyways, so before I broke my leg I was very active. Always going to the gym and running. Even in my cast I'm lifting weights and doing sit ups. I'm just wondering how having something like this is going to affect my life? I am really into " risky" sports, like snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, and skydiving. I did break my arm snowboarding in the past. Do you think I'm going to be able to continue doing stuff like that? I always have new interests too.. I really want to learn how to do the flying trapeze. Am I being crazy?I dislike jobs where I have to sit around all day but the way the surgeon was talking, my knee is never going to be the same and I'll be riddled with athritis from all my breaks before I know it. This makes me so sad. I love being really busy and active at work, and was hoping to become a nurse.Gah. I don't know, osteoporosis and my personality just don't mix and this is going to kill me inside.
Does anastrozole cause early osteoporosis?
Can osteoporosis be cured?
I was diagnosed about 3 years ago. For 1 1 2 years I used the drug Forteo, but it has a limited amount of time it can be used by any patient. After that time was completed, the doctor said my 'numbers' were back to normal. So, can it actually be cured, or will I have to be treated for it repeatedly with multiple medicines? I am lucky in that I do not have heavy symptoms.

What is treatment for Osteoporosis of young women?
My name is Rosnita Yasin, aged 26. Married and got a daughter aged 10 months. I am giving her full breast feeding until she is 6 months but have to stop after taking Carbimazole. I ve been diagnosed as Hyperthyroid when I was 18 years old and this is the 3rd time it comes back. I am still under medication. One day I have back problem and did the MRI, it shows fracture of my spine. And now I was diagnose osteoporosis. Maybe it is because of long term suffering of Hyperthyroid. My question is, can I take the Protaxos Strontium Ranelate as the treatment for osteoporosis? I have made some research and found that it is for postmenopausal women. I am still young. Does Protaxos will give any effect on me such as fertility? Please ladies and gentleman, I need advice. I am plan to have more babies..
